The new Stradic Ci4+RA features the very latest lightweight Ci4+ body material, a super strong yet lightweight material that stays reliable in even the most demanding situations. Stunning looks are coupled with superb performance including Aero Wrap II oscillation for excellent line lay. The Shimano Power Roller dramatically reduces line twist, a big advantage when using thin mono or braid, and the unique Fightin’ Drag system allows easy adjustment of the drag setting whilst playing a fish. A total of 5 Shielded A-RB bearings and one roller bearing deliver silky smooth performance and efficiency whilst Hypergear transmits more power from the handle to the rotor delivering more torque and ultimately more power.
Reel uses the patented Shimano systems :
The durability, smoothness and strength of the gearing (HAGANE Gear), efficient power transmission (X-SHIP) and the incredibly rigid reel body (HAGANE Body) creates the heart of the concept. The more you use it, the more you realize the value of HAGANE.
Hagane Gear - Highly durable cold-forged aluminum drive gear :
With amazing strength and durability, the HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of the reel. Shimano, through the application of state-of-the-art technologies, gives you the long-lasting smoothness and pleasure that you feel when you first use a reel, over and over again. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear. Instead the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and then formed by Shimano’s cold forging technology. The result is assured resilience. It’s the fruit of Shimano’s inexhaustible pursuit for durability the strength and power of forged metal continues to represent the fundamental concept of Shimano reels.
X-Ship - The Embodiment of smoothness :
The X-SHIP system gives reels increased gearing efficiency and power, eliminating twist and rotor flex. The result is powerful and silky smooth cranking by efficiently and effectively transmitting input power.
Hagane Body - Metal body with extreme rigidity :
The Hagane Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler’s actions directly into cranking power. It’s efficiency through strength.
Power Roller :
The special design of the Shimano Power Roller significantly reduces line twist during the retrieve and is a big advantage when using thin mono and braid.
Super Stopper II :
With the reel set in anti-reverse mode you'll find zero free-play on the handle thanks to Super Stopper II. Unerringly positive every time, its practical benefits include micro increment settings of quiver tips or specialist bite indicators and faster hook setting.
AR-C Spool :
A spool design with a V-shape spool lip ensuring that the line comes off the reel in smaller loops for further and more accurate casting. The AR-C spool will minimise the risk of backlash.
Aero Wrap II :
By improving the internal friction efficiency Shimano succeeded in bringing it?s line lay systems close to perfection. Close parallel coils in combination with 2 speed oscillation ensure smoother and further casting.
The precision engineered main hypergear transmits more power form the handle to the rotor. Designed to exacting tolerances, it requires less effort but returns more retrieve plaing torque with vastly reduced component wear.
Floating Shaft II :
The key friction area on most fixed spool reels is where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion. Shimano designers have overcome this by reducing a large percentage of surface area contact, and incorporating bearings on either side of the shaft. The resultant design leaves the shaft in a "floating" position, considerably improving efficiency and longevity.
Dyna Balance :
Reduces reel wobble and allows produces ultra smooth performance.
S - ARB :
Shimano S-ARB bearings are high corrosion resistant A-RB ball bearings with an extra shield for impoved protection against sand, salt or dust.
One Piece Bail :
The one – piece bail wire has no gap for line to snag on during normal operation. Made of Stainless Steel it reduces friction and allows the line to get onto the line roller quicker.
